When & How To Sample
Established Lawns
- Early Spring this allows you to set your
fertilizer program/strategy for the year - Summer typically, only if having issues or
want to evaluate progress - Fall guides last fertilizer application of the season to ensure lawn is set for winter
hardiness and early spring green-up.
New/Overseeded Lawns
- 2-3 Weeks Prior balance soil pH and nutrients for rapid establishment
- 6-8 Weeks After evaluate for any further pH or nutrient adjustments
Application Timing
- Fertilize during active growth periods
- 1st application early spring when greening starts
- Follow with applications every 5-6 weeks until growth slows in the late fall
